Some people call them complimentary cards but I prefer the
appellation business cards for the simple reason that it sounds
professional than grammatical. A business card generally contains
information about an individual and his/her business.
We design business cards taking into consideration the following tips and more:
• SIZE:
A business card should be handy and most often 9x5cm will be the ideal
size. A card too large or too small might not fit or appear too big for
a standard business card holder.
• PAPER: Business cards should
be printed on material that renders the ink on it indelible and bright.
A hard paper is generally preferable.
• ORIENTATION:
Here we’re talking about the horizontal or vertical placement of a
business card (landscape or portrait). The vulgar orientation is
landscape but a portrait landscape might just make a difference!
• CONTENT:
A business card is neither a brochure nor a flyer and shouldn’t be
stuffed with information. A logo, a name and title plus an address,
diligently displayed will give you a verity business card.
• DESIGN:
Have in mind that one of the things that differentiate “Business card
A” from “Business card B” is its design. Unlike what most people think,
the logo must not be at the top left. Creativity is of utmost
importance and remember to always present your customer with a variety
of designs and let him/her have the right to choice.
